Name: Varyss Mardian
Age: Unknown (but he looks to be in his mid-20s)
Not much is known about the young, human mage known as Varyss Mardian. This is mostly due to the fact that Varyss himself woke up in Northshire Abbey suffering from amnesia almost three years ago and has been trying to piece together his life ever since. Varyss' skin has a slight tan to it and his unnaturally calm, ice-blue eyes seem to glare coldly at whatever he has his attention on, regardless of his current emotional state. His main distinguishing feature is a large scar spanning the length of his right arm, which he prefers to keep hidden underneath whatever clothes he chooses to wear, be they a normal shirt or mage's robes. His shoulder-length, brown hair seems to be well-maintained, even if it does look a little 'wild' for a mage.
Around people he doesn't know, Varyss' attitude can seem almost as cold as his eyes, but with friends, he's almost an entirely different person, seeming to be a lot 'happier' and more relaxed. Born in Westfall to a loving family, Varyss was an only child until the age of seven, when his sister Leannah was born. Four years later, their happy childhood was shattered forever when their home was destroyed and Varyss was taken by members of the Scarlet Crusade. His sister managed to escape and start a new life as an adopted child of a family in Stormwind - the two of them being reunited fifteen years later. Their parents were never found in the ruins and seemed to have disappeared without a trace.
Varyss isn't an archmage, nor does he desire to be. Because of his amnesia, he doesn't even know if he ever went to Dalaran while it was still standing, much less studied there. Varyss has an intense hatred for the Scarlet Crusade and anyone that falls under their banner, regardless of how 'noble' they say their intentions are. He often ignores his judgement or his sense of reason just for the purpose of getting another piece of revenge.
Varyss doesn't talk about his past too much, preferring to keep it to himself unless absolutely neccessary. Despite the way he sometimes distances himself from others, Varyss has a strong sense of loyalty and is a very trustworthy individual....and not someone you want as an enemy.
((I decided to copy/paste the bio from my post on the Q&S forum, as the old one is a little outdated now...))
