Defender's Council Protocol - October 22, Stormwind HQ
Present: Mangohran, Darkshine, Rhyanna, Varyss, Dálainé, Zadorak, (Mizo arrived during the promotion ceremonies), Theodar.
At the beginning of the meeting Theodar volounteered to act as a scribe.
Letters Concerning the Circle
Mangohran, the Commander of the Circle, opened the meeting with a welcome and asked us if we had recieved the letters he sent us concerning the Circle and it's history. He asked us to gain this knowledge so that it may be passed on to new recruits and coming generations of Defenders.
Special Roles
As the meeting progressed the subject of Special Roles within the Circle was addressed, such as Lore Keeper, Mentor, Scribe and Recruiter.
Lore Keeper
The work and goal of the Lore Keeper is to, with help of others, spread the knowledge of the guilds history and existence. A part of this task is to inform recruits about the history and what a Defenders is and does.
Scribe
A Scribe of the Circle documents meetings and important events of guild. He also makes sure that the existing documents are kept in an orderly fashion, easy to access for members. (( In other words, the forum. ))
Mentor
This role is meant as a guide for new recruits in the ways of a Defender. The Mentor makes sure the Lore Keepr informs them about the Circle's history while the Mentor takes care of the more practical areas.
Recruiter
Has the task of spreading the word about the Circle and finding suitable recruits. Upon finding these the Recruiter observes them during their period as an Initiate and gives his or hers oppinion to the Inner Circle Council who makes the final decision.
There was a discussion of to what extent the Circle should expand. The conclussion was to start with a smaller number of recruits, get them accostomed to the ways of the guild and thereafter allowing the expansion to continue.
The gathered were asked if they could see themselves in any of the special roles mentioned earlier. Both Dálainé and Theodar volunteered for the role of Recruiter and Rhyanna to the Mentor role. There were none who spoke up about the Lore Keeper role.
Theodar mentioned that the Inner Circle Council had discussed Darkshine's initiate period and they had reached the same conclussion. She is more than ready to be promoted to Apprentice, although she seemed a bit hesitant, not wanting too much responsiblity. That is reasonable, having a baby on the way, and also her choice. She did however agree to that it would seem odd being an initiate for much longer and thus being promoted.
After the promotion ceremonies for Darkshine, Rhyanna and Dálainé, Mangohran asked Zadorak if he would accept the role of Lore Keeper. Although surprised, he accepted and thought it to be an honour.
Promotions
Darkshine - Apprentice.
Rhyanna - Special Role: Mentor.
Dálainé - Special Role: Recruiter.
Zadorak - Special Role: Lore Keeper.
The meeting was concluded and socializing followed, continued at the Blue Recluse.
